As somewhat of a "how to" junkie, I was always disappointed that books for "improving" your life always seemed to be so esoteric. I couldn't figure our HOW to get to the place the people in book described. I always figured some people just "got it" about life, goals, meaning, and others, like myself, just didn't. Until I read this book. Step by step instructions on how to find out what's important to you and then what to do with it! And it doesn't matter if you're 21 or 61. Worth every penny!Product details

I found this book to be "just what the doctor ordered" for my journey in life right now.
A systematic process to arriving at clarity in ones' life. Powerful.
This work contains easy-to-follow procedures to find your missions in life which can be found at the intersection of values, visions and roles in your personal or professional life.
I read so many books and articles about this subject in the last 10 years but this book is different because of the step-by-step approach to clarify values, visions and your different roles and ...the relationship between them! After doing the exercises it became clear to me that one can have different missions moreover they are the starting point for building strategies at a personal and professional level, get more clarity, conviction, commitment , courage...and finally get better results
No `hocus pocus' or mystic exercises, more rational (lot of charts, formulas, logics) but fine for me as this procedural (and still creative!) approach gave me a better understanding about the formula of succes.
The 500 pages are easy to read and lot of information and insights are repeated over and over again from different points of view.
Well worth to read related to the results/improvements one can achieve. Reading this book and doing the exercises improved my Time Quotient TQ=Results/Time, one of the concepts explained in this book.
Had great conversation with ER Haas about spiritual roots of ThinkTQ and its value to people of faith. I quickly learned that his book describes a very powerful, easy-to-follow process that helps people identify their values, roles, missions, purposes and passions in life. Definitely worth the read. Includes much empirical data often missing from self-help genre AND it doesn't just tell you what to do - it coaches you how to do it.
10/25/2010 - I'm amazed at how closely ER's process for identifying mission and purpose mirrors the one I used years ago to develop my own mission and purpose. Everything in Success on Purpose tracks back to my goal planning tool, GoalMind, and I can see great possibilities for people who complete the values, roles and visioning exercises in E.R.'s book and want to keep up with their goals in a centrally available and systematic way.
An excellent book and well worth the price.
